    The City of Gridley is operated as a General Law City with an elected five member Council and an appointed City Administrator. Gridley is served by a planning commission, a City Planner, Building Inspector and accompanying staff. The City provides electrical power water and sewer within the city limits. Electrical needs are provided to the county by Pacific Gas & Electric.

    Gridley City Hall
    Gridley City Hall is located at 685 Kentucky Street and is the meeting site for the Gridley City Council and Planning Commission.

    Public meetings are generally held in the city council chambers on the second story. The following departments are also located in city hall: finance, planning, electric, public works and building.

    Gridley-Biggs Police Department
    The Gridley-Biggs Police Department is connected to Gridley City Hall at 685 Kentucky Street.

    The department has 17 full time officers and five full time dispatchers, providing 24 hour police protection to city residents.

    The department also has a school resource officer and sponsors the Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program and the Hands Are Not For Hitting program in Gridley School.

    Gridley CDF Fire Station
    The Gridley CDF Fire Station is located at 47 East Gridley Road. The city contracts with the California Department of Forestry for fire protection.

    A fire engine and fire truck are housed at the station and the city has access to numerous pieces of fire equipment in both Butte and Sutter County.

    Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital
    The small community hospital is not a thing of the past. Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital offers excellent medical and emergency services. The community owned and operated facility is a sources of pride.

    The Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital (240 Spruce Street) has been serving the Gridley community since June 10, 1949.

    The 49 bed facility offers inpatient and outpatient services, ambulance service, helicopter airlift, a critical care unit, surgical unit, sub-acute care unit, skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation services.

    Gridley Family Care Center
    The Gridley Family Care Center (284 Spruce Street) is operated by Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital. The phone number to the Care Center is (530) 846-9080.

    Gridley Medical Group
    The Gridley Medical Group (225 Spruce Street) has a staff of two doctors and a family nurse practitioner. The phone number to the center is (530) 846-5655.

    Transportation  

    Gridley is centrally located in California, which makes traveling in every direction very accessible.

    Sacramento International Airport
    The Sacramento International Airport provides national and international flights daily. The airport is less than an hour's drive from Gridley, located at 600 Airport Boulevard, north of Sacramento.

    Greyhound Bus Lines
    Greyhound Bus Lines make daily stops at 965 Spruce Street in Gridley. For a schedule of stops, destinations and fare information call 800-231-2222.

    Gridley Golden Feather Flyer
    The Gridley Golden Feather Flyer provides taxi service to Gridley senior citizen residents.

    Tickets are purchased at Gridley City Hal. The number for the Feather Flyers is (530) 370-1945.

    Butte County Transit
    Buses from Butte County Transit make stops in Gridley six days a week.

    The bus stops in Gridley three times a day, Monday through Friday, and four times on Saturday.

    Scheduled stops include the Butte County Housing Authority (850 East Gridley Road), East Gridley Road near 7-Eleven and the Heritage Oak Shopping Center, near the intersection of West Biggs-Gridley Road and Spruce Street.

    Stops are marked with Butte County Transit signs. The bus makes several stops throughout Butte County, including Oroville and Chico.
